The old land of Hyrule was once created by the three goddesses; Din, goddess of power, Nayru, goddess of wisdom and Farore, goddess of Courage. When this world was created, the goddesses returned to heaven, but before they left they left behind the legendary Triforce, a golden emblem formed as three triangles which is said to hold great power. Whoever touches the Triforce will see his highest wishes come true. To protect this power and prevent evil forces to get their hand on it, the old sages hid it in the sacred realm. But of course this is a great treasure that many men crave and many people have tried to get their hand on the holy Triforce.

the Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap

In Hyrule there goes a legend about a war and the land was filled with shadows and evil. Fortunately one courageous man was able to save the land with help from a tiny Picori who gave the man a shining light and a sword. With this sword the man chased the evil away and as a token of their gratitude the people of Hyrule began to hold a yearly festival to honor the Picories. The sword that the hero used is hidden away.

Now it’s a long time since a Picori has been spotted in Hyrule and the whole Picori tribe has become a legend, but the festival is still being held and some people claims that every hundred festival the Picories will show up.

This year is the 100th festival and there is a sword-fighting tournament going on at the castle to mark this jubilee. Vaati, a mysterious man wins the whole tournament with ease, but no one knows who this strange champion is and after the tournament it becomes clear that he has any good attentions in his mind.

Princess Zelda and her childhood friend, Link, is enjoying the festival together when they crash into the mess Vaati has made at the castle, and of course Vaati himself who attacks Zelda with a spell before he disappears. Now it’s up to Link to save his friend and stop Vaati’s evil plans. Maybe he will get some help from the legendary Picories?

The Minish Cap is definitely a funny game. It’s made in same style as Wind Waker and with just as many funny characters and twists.  In this game there is no Ganon or Ganondorf, but the old legend of Zelda feeling is there, in a colourful and cute version. As Link obtains a hat that gives him the ability to shrink you get to investigate small caverns, attics and secrets communities that you never thought you would find in Hyrule. A game full of humor and danger.
