As you may have noticed;
Golden Ocarina is now a site about different
videogames and some jrock bands/artists,
mostly based on graphic art, traditional art
and written stuff related to our games and
bands. This way our site will be filled with
works done by the staff and our visitors. A
nice place to find things to admire, read,
steel and laugh at. Beautiful. But it hasn’t
always been like this:
Around May 30th
in 2004 the first update was up on a simple,
blue and golden layout. It was a totally new
GoldenSun/Legend of Zelda site, made by two
very proud webmistresses, all though it was
their first site ever, so the looks of it
was a bit amateur-like, it was a site full
of optimism. Soon the layout was changed as
the graphic designer, Evilynn, got better
and better, it turned from blue to blue and
to green.
When the site had been up
for half a year or something (that would be
when we had our second blue layout) Golden
Ocarina forum was started. It was fun and it
actually got some members, but after a while
we had managed to screw up the whole forum,
so we built an ark and sailed our members to
a new forum, where they could live happily
ever after. As the awaken eye may observe,
it became important for us to make the
forum-layout match the main site, so as the
site changed, so did the forum.
Then, finally, around
Golden Ocarina’s two-years-anniversary, the
two webmistresses was ready to leave their
subdomain and start for themselves. With a
brand new, green layout, the site was moved
to the new glamorous address,
goldenocarina.com.
For some quiet months
everything stayed the same, and the great
site was becoming a little, calm site with
no happenings. Almost dying. The two clever
webmistresses put their heads together and
tried to think. What seemed to be the
problem? Why wasn’t the site working as it
should? Then it hit them; their motivation
was falling apart. There had been long time
since the last GoldenSun-game came out, so
nothing was happening at that corner, and
sadly they had to admit that the two year
old Golden Ocarina was starting to bore them
a bit. They needed a huge change that could
make the site more fun and interesting. Why
not make it a site about more games and not
just the two former ones? And what if the
site was filled with more fun, art and
fiction, instead of just information? The
new Golden Ocarina was to be born. With a
new, dark blue layout and with a quite
different style and goal, the Golden Ocarina
as we know it today saw daylight for its
first time in the beautiful summer of 2006.
